My name is Sheryl Vaughn. I have worked in Customer Service, Human Resources and Mental Health for over 50 years. Originally from Ohio, I have been in Pinellas County, Florida since 1989. On a trip back to Ohio for vacation, I stopped in Olive Hill, Kentucky to pay my respect to my daddy (I always called him that). It was pouring rain. I mean raining so hard you had to have the wipers on the fastest mode to drive. I didn’t care. I had to do this. Not sure when I’d be able to make it back up there again. The family cemetery was up on a hill. I made my way up through the rain and mud. It was very surreal. At that time, I started thinking and feeling guilty about not being able to “visit” more. As I continued my journey north, I stopped at my grandmothers, Aunts’ and Uncles’ grave in Portsmouth, Ohio to pay my respect. They are all buried together, but my mother was cremated and is in Florida with me. I had a locket necklace of an angel that I added some of my mom’s ashes in and I attached it to the headstone of my grandmother. It was still pouring and I secured it with lots of superglue. This is when the thought of my business was born. If I was feeling that way, I’m sure others were too. Especially if they are out of state.
